The Moore County populace including Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, and residents of nine surrounding counties. Centrally located in North Carolina, Moore County enjoys easy access by auto from Interstates 95, 85, 40, and 73/74 and has direct access to US 1, US 15-501, NC 2, NC 5 and NC 211. Moore County is seeing an increase in the number of people aged 20 to 45 moving to the area, as more and more people in this age group are discovering the business and employment opportunities, safe neighborhoods, and good schools here. Our communities continue to attract active retirees as well. Moore County is growing, but with its large land area, it maintains a more rural, uncongested feeling. During the decade between Census 2000 and Census 2010, Moore County has grown by 13,479 people or 18.0%. The NC State Demographics Office projects that by the year 2030, the county’s population will be close to 115,000. Over 1 million national and international tourists visit the area each year spending $349 million annually. State travel expenditures exceeded $15.6 billion in 2009, supporting over 183,700 full-time jobs. On average, that means in excess of $880,082 is pumped into the economy via travel and tourism every day.

Cumberland County has grown to become the economic and cultural hub of an 11-county region in southeastern North Carolina. Fayetteville is the 6th largest city and the 5th largest metropolitan area in the state. It is also among the fastest-growing areas in the state and is considered the economic growth center of the Southeast. Two military installations are the backbone of the county’s economy. Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base pump about $4.5 billion a year into the region’s economy making it one of the best retail markets in the county. It is expected that in 2011, 6,450 government jobs will be sustained by military-related investments, bringing the total number of government-related jobs in the area to 134,872. The additional job opportunities shall cause the population to increase by over 40,000 by 2013. BRAC Community Impact Assessment study for North Carolina report that by 2013, it is projected that seven counties around the Ft. Bragg footprint will experience growth as a result of the base realignment campaign.
